This week we would love to share with you our recipe for making the Canadian meal Poutine.  Poutine is a mixture of fries, gravy and cheese curds. The writer ate poutine for the first time recently, and it was an excellent blend of cheese curds, chips and gravy. What remains on the taste bud after its all said and done is the delicate taste of cheese. Many cooks suggest that it is the cheese that gives the poutine its authenticity.  So what are real cheese curds? Real cheese curds are solid pieces of curdled milk that can be eaten either alone or as a snack or, added to fries and gravy to make poutine.

Poutine sounds French or European. But, it is not known to be a popular choice of meal in Europe. If the truth were to be told, no one can say where poutine came from.  Tradition has it that poutine originated in the 1950s in Warwick Quebec at a restaurant called Le Lutin qui rit. Upon being asked to add cheese curds to a customer’s fries, the owner responded “ca va faire une maudite poutine” or that is going to make a dreadful mess’. It is safe to assume that poutine has its origins somewhere in rural Quebec.

This is the recipe we liked the most on Youtube. It is from My Virgin Kitchen Enjoy!
